Next-generation sequencing

It is an Application of genetic sequencing which is used to identify the populations at high risk or target therapies to patients those who are likely to respond. It is also known as high-throughput sequencing it is mainly used to describe all the new sequencing technologies. These techniques are much more cheaper and consumes the least time as compared to sanger method, etc.

  • Illumina (Solexa) sequencing
  • Roche 454 sequencing
  • Ion torrent: Proton / PGM sequencing
  • SOLiD sequencing
